Consider for a moment what many of these children have experienced in their young lives. Growing up in a land of abject poverty where the next meal is considered good fortune and not a right.
They have lost parents to a disease they do not understand. Lost uncles, aunts and grandparents. Many of them suffered terrible abuse at the hands of their so called "caregivers".
Now they have found a home under the loving care of people who can provide for their basic needs. These basic needs can only be met with the help of volunteers and generous donations. Financial aid is always needed and should not be understated.
However, the psychological trauma endured during their early years, requires more than financial aid to help heal. A hand made quilt crafted for a chosen child, conveys a message of love and caring that a check cannot do.
By creating a quilt for a child you can help heal a broken heart, and show that their are people in the world that really care.

It's easy to get started. Because the quilt is a personal gift, there is a connection between the quilter and a child.
The first step is to choose the child which touches your heart - this can be the most difficult part as there are so many in need.
Once a child is chosen and you have reviewed the guidelines, you can start work on your quilt. As soon as the quilt is complete, you can send it to us.
We will forward the quilts onto the children in batches, to help keep shipping costs to a minimum.
